MEET THE ARTIST:
Glenna Gaffney has been surrounded by creatives for the majority of her working career as an Entertainment Manager, affording her the pleasure of working with some of the greatest artists and musicians of all time. Glenna recalls, “as a little girl, I used to play with paper dolls, and I would make their clothes because I didn’t like the ones that came with the dolls. I have always been creative as far back as I can remember.”
Sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting were some of her earliest creative expressions. And as a tall girl standing at 5’11”, Glenna started making some of her clothes in Junior High School. She innately had a passion to create.
Glenna is inspired by her life experiences, and traveling the world developed her love of culture, fabrics, and imagery. Her quirky and eclectic style always garners complements and her unique and eclectic taste transfers seamlessly into her art projects.
Couture Paper Dolls are an evolution and expression of artwork Glenna has cultivated over the years. These expressions came to life once Covid shifted the landscape of Glenna’s primary industry, music, which was heavily impacted. However, this shift was a blessing; it afforded Glenna with the opportunity to focus on her own talents for a change. And, after acting upon the recommendation from a friend to create on canvas, Couture Paper Dolls were born.
They are a culmination of the dolls we knew and loved as a child with the flair of the women we are today.
Each art piece created by Glenna is a handmade, original expression meaning no two pieces will ever be identical. Each doll is also named and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
As Glenna embarks on this new journey, she looks forward to sharing her distinctive works of art with you and she hopes you will find as much joy in her works as she found in creating them.
